Artist: Lize du Plessis She is originally from Johannesburg, and attended NSA (Die Kruin Art, Music and Ballet School). She studied BA Visual Arts, including Fine Art, Sculpting and Art History at UNISA. She worked as a graphic designer and illustrator at numerous advertising agencies and plan to finish her BA History of Arts degree during 2011. Lize mostly concentrates on commissions, but has taken part in group exhibitions at galleries and festivals. She has a passion for life, art, imagination and creation. Apart from attending art school, she was surrounded with art and music since birth. Her father was a part time sculptor, brother an artist and architect and her mother a pianist. Lize loves creating paintings and drawings based on emotion, but mostly she paints wherever her imagination takes her. She loves playing with colour and technique, using acrylic, being her favorite medium. Colour plays a major role in her life. She often uses contemporary ideas with a surrealistic twist. |
